What is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership?
The fundamental principles behind Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) were established 35 years ago to enable UK businesses of all sizes from almost all types of industry to take advantage of the wide range of expertise and knowledge available in the UK’s knowledge base (higher and further education institutions and public and private sector research institutions and organisations).
The Knowledge Transfer Partnerships programme is among the world’s leading initiatives utilising the knowledge and skills of high-calibre Associates (recently qualified graduates) and their Academic Supervisors to inject fresh ideas into business.
The 2010, KTP Awards were held at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, on Wednesday 10 March, to honour nine of the best Knowledge Transfer Partnerships from the previous year and the five Associates who won the accolade of ‘Business Leader of Tomorrow’. This year the Awards also recognise the importance of the role of the Academic Supervisor through the Academic Excellence Award, and the ongoing impact that KTP can have on a business with the addition of a new Business Impact Award.
