As a result of the KTP project, the Health Community now has a much more in-depth knowledge of transport and logistics-related issues together with the capabilities to tackle them. With the aid of this KTP, the Trust has significantly improved its performance with respect to the targets set by the Department of Health and has become more effective and efficient in its use of logistical assets, ensuring that all patient, staff and non-patient movements are done in the most appropriate and cost-effective manner. The programme has raised the profile of the Trust in both the region and nationally, and it is now acknowledged to be leading the way in improvements in transport and logistics provision.
