The University of Derby and Forterra are offering a rare opportunity to lead a strategic project to research and source environmentally ground breaking raw material for Aircrete blocks. The project could transform the company's future in this product.
Forterra are looking for an enthusiastic recent graduate to help deliver a project to take a new innovative approach to bringing this product to market. This is a real opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic manufacturing business.
We are looking for a graduate with a first or upper second class degree with honours in an Earth Science or Property/Planning subject and ideally an MSc or MPhil in a related subject, to undertake a 24 month fixed term position between the University of Derby and Forterra.
To undertake this role you will have experience of assessment and analysis of mineral raw materials and their applications, you will possess the ability to gain accurate knowledge and understand planning, permitting issues, certification requirements, and extraction and beneficiation methods. You will need to be able to demonstrate Project Management Skills – and a proficiency in the use of project management tools. You will also need industrial report writing skills to a high standard as well as excellent spoken English. A passion for working with high risk projects would be of benefit.
You will have a structured and logical approach with excellent presentation skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and categorise complex levels of data.
