This is an exciting role for an aspirational engineer with strong computational electromagnetic field modelling skills together with basic skills in electronic hardware design and sensor design. The purpose of the job is to develop and integrate a unique robust and reliable integrated automated proximity detection system for a specific hazard into mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPS). The product aims to significantly reduce the risk to workers on such platforms.
The role is full-time and will be based at Niftylift Ltd premises in Milton Keynes. Throughout the project the KTP Associate will play a key role in managing and implementing strategic developments in the business and transferring knowledge between the University and the business.

• Possess a strong software or mathematics background with previous industrial or research project experience in inverse problems and/or in electromagnetism and computational electromagnetics.
• Be able to rapidly fill knowledge gaps in sensor design and have the confidence to quickly assess the most promising solutions.
• Show a proven experience of programming skills in a high-level language such as Matlab, C or Python.
In addition the associate is expected to play a major role in coordinating the stakeholders involved in this project, so must have good communication and organisation skills.
