We are looking for a Computer Programmer/Software Developer to be involved with an innovative new product. This KTP project offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious graduate to launch a new career with the support of company and academic mentors. MFDS have joined forces with the University of Wolverhampton on this KTP project to enable the evaluation of building energy performance. MFDS are a design drawing office but this is diversification at its best and as such we are not looking for a building designer, and experience of the construction industry is not essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a brand new project involving programming new software tools to integrate building information modelling with smart building sensor technology for the development of an energy validation protocol system to evaluate and certify a buildings performance against design parameters. You will have the opportunity to introduce this project into a global market and become a part of the exciting new world of digital construction.

You will be employed by The University of Wolverhampton and will be based at MFDS in Hereford. You must be willing to travel independently both within the UK and overseas.

You should hold a minimum of BSc (Hons) 2:1 in computer science or subjects very closely related to this.
You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to programme using C# or equivalent programming language and having knowledge of sensor based technology would be advantageous too. You should also have the skills to manage this project, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships and be able to work flexibly in a team environment.
It would be desirable, but not essential, to have some knowledge of smart device development and experience in connecting and controlling devices remotely.
