KTP Advert Ref:
The main duty of the post holder is to lead and successfully deliver the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between UCL and WCN to use Data Science and Machine Learning techniques to develop intelligent models to support recruitment process, particularly in identifying the best candidate applications for a given role or the best role for a given candidate, thereby embedding significant capabilities in WCN for future growth.
The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in information retrieval and apply it in the recruiting business. This project brings some unique academic challenges, which are exciting and valuable for the research of information retrieval. The bi-directional match between CV and Jobs is a unique technological challenge. It provides a novel application that goes beyond web search and traditional single direction recommender systems. The project will also explore network analysis for the unique bi-directional match problem. It focuses on the connectivity between CVs and Jobs (instead of the meaning of semantic texts as in information retrieval) and are represented and analysed as a bipartite graph.
We also expect the candidate would be able to lead and successfully deliver the above research at UCL and explore its commercial use with the team in WCN.
The successful candidate will have a good first degree in Computer Science (or closely related subject) and a Masters level qualification in Data Science (Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning or other closely related subject); we welcome applicants with a PhD. You should also have experience of conducting high quality computer science research and be able to demonstrate very good knowledge and experience of high level programming languages. The candidate should also possess knowledge of Machine learning, information retrieval, recommender systems, NLP (Word Embedding) and Knowledge of network analysis or complex network theory.
