We wish to recruit a highly skilled and motivated graduate to work in Precision Livestock Management Ltd. in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast for 36 months. Through this Knowledge Transfer Partnership, Precision Livestock Management Ltd in partnership with Devenish Nutrition Ltd, aim to apply advanced animal sensor technology and associated engineering methods to develop a next generation rumen bolus for cattle that will provide information on pH and temperature to be used to improve cattle performance, health and welfare.
Skills required: Essential Qualifications:
Hold or be about to obtain in July 2018 at least a 2.1 Honours Degree or equivalent in Electronic or Control Engineering. Applicants who hold, or are about to obtain in July 2018, a 2.2 Honours Degree in addition to either 1 years’ relevant experience or a related higher degree will be considered.

Essential skills we require as a minimum:
Completion of a relevant research project, module or student placement. Applicants should indicate how their experience could be applied to this post.
Understand the use of remote sensing technologies, microcontrollers and have experience in the development of electronic circuits and control software (may be demonstrated through the completion of a module, student project or placement).
Desirable Criteria:
A relevant higher degree.
Three months’ relevant work experience.
Experience in the design of electronic circuits and microcontroller systems
Experience in hardware and software development
Experience in Animal Welfare/Animal Science*
Experience in Precision Agricultural Technologies/Precision Livestock Farming*
*may be demonstrated through the completion of a module, student project or placement
