An exciting opportunity has become available to work full time on a 26-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to develop a non-destructive, low-cost, easily deployable system for sealing or reducing background water leakage in customer supply pipes.

Skills required: Qualification we require:
MSc or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Product Design Engineering or a closely related subject.

Candidates with a good honours (2:1 or 1st) Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field will be considered if they have significant industrial experience of direct relevance to the project.

Application requirements:

Candidates should have:

• proven working knowledge of flow simulation and CAD;
• practical / experimental skills (including digital data acquisition and image/video capture) to support the substantial portion of work with test rigs and prototype patches;
• some experience in the use of room temperature cure epoxies and silicone polymer systems will be desirable, but not essential;

Candidates will be required to demonstrate an ability to work independently in a well-organised manner and set priorities to meet deadlines. Some commercial exposure would be useful.
