An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious graduate to help i2o Ltd develop digital parametric tools from the concept design to the file-to-factory manufacturing process of steel structures for lightweight roofs and cost effective Building Integrated Photovoltaic structures. The project is based on Rhino3D and will require extensive use of the plug-ins Grasshopper, Ladybug, Honeybee, Galapagos, and Kangaroo. The KTP Associate will have the unique opportunity to supervise the design, optimisation, manufacturing and installation of advanced 3D architectural structures.
This full-time position is a 29-month fixed term contract, with a £4,800 dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development. This includes attendance at the main international workshops and conferences in this field.
The KTP Associate will be based in Fenstanton, Cambridgeshire, close to the exciting academic environment of Cambridge and well connected to London and the main international airports.
About i2o Ltd: I2o Ltd is a UK based manufacturing company that designs, manufactures and installs tensile membrane structures from canopies, shelters, solar car park solutions and walkways through to large area atrium covers, venue covers and textile facades for buildings.
The company is planning to expand and invest in new machineries file-to-factory technologies. The KTP Associate will have a key role in this process, an exciting opportunity to develop her/his managerial and leadership skills.
Qualifications we require:
As a minimum you will hold an undergraduate degree awarded at 2:1 or above or equivalent in Architecture or Engineering or a related discipline. A postgraduate degree in Architecture/Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage.
The successful candidate must possess:
• Specialism in Rhino/Grasshopper and parametric design.
• Experience on built projects and experience of working in an industrial environment is desirable.
• A willingness to travel, a driving licence and own transport (due to rural location).
Essential skills we require as a minimum:
• Excellent communication skills to provide clear reporting of results in written or verbal form.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
