An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Turbo Innovation Engineer as part of a 3 year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the University of Huddersfield and HR Blowers UK Ltd.
HR Blowers UK Ltd is a small company with a range of machinery that provide pressurised air and vacuum to the Bulk Solids Handling / Pneumatic Conveying Industries, Waste Water Treatment and other markets.
They are forward looking and working with high quality industrial networks and contacts, who in turn challenge HR Blowers UK Ltd to: improve equipment, develop new equipment, provide process, maintenance and reliability improvements.
The customer base for HR Blowers UK Ltd is truly international, similar equipment and related processes are found throughout the world. A growing workforce within the company is increasingly globally mobile.
The role will be based at a mixture of HR Blowers’ sites in and around Huddersfield, depending on the work that is needed. A strong connection to Huddersfield Universities Turbo Research Institute will also persist because the staff there have the expertise, knowledge and experience to help HR Blowers UK Ltd deliver new technologies to an existing market.

During the project lifespan the successful candidate will enjoy a personal development budget of £6,000. You will also attend Associate residential training programmes where you will undertake modules centred on the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) level 5 qualification in management.
This role requires a First or Upper Second class degree in a manufacturing related subject, together with knowledge in simulation and modelling. Ability to use an industry standard solid modelling package (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (preferably Ansys or ABAQUS) is essential. This role would suit an individual with good team working skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively for complex development projects.
