We wish to recruit a highly skilled and motivated graduate to work in Mash Direct in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast for 33 months. Through this Knowledge Transfer Partnership, Mash Direct seeks to develop innovative solutions to extend the shelf life of fresh produce.
Qualifications we require:
Hold or be about to obtain in July 2019 at least a 2.1 Honours Degree or equivalent Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or a closely related discipline. Applicants who hold, or are about to obtain in July 2018, a 2.2 Honours Degree in addition to either 1 years’ relevant work experience or a related higher degree will be considered.
Essential skills we require as a minimum:
9 months’ relevant work experience.
Understand the importance of sanitation and decontamination in the food processing sector (may be demonstrated through the completion of a module, student project or work experience).

A higher degree in a relevant discipline
1 year’s relevant work experience.
Demonstrable relevant microbiological laboratory skills.
Understand the use of non-thermal technologies (may be demonstrated through the completion of a module, student project or placement).
Understanding of regulatory requirements for a range of target markets.
