The University of Liverpool (UoL) and Astech Projects Ltd are seeking to appoint a well qualified and motivated individual to work on an Innovate UK funded, two-year collaborative Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between Astech Projects and the Department of Computer Science. Astech are a northwest based technology company specialising in robot solutions, especially for the analytical laboratory market place. The successful applicant will be working within Astech Ltd, and a team from the Department of Computer Science at UoL, on a strategic project utilising AI and Machine Learning technology to develop an intelligent robot arm solution directed at analytical laboratory automation. This will be the first in a series of such products. The expectation is that the successful applicant, on completion of the project, will stay on with the company and lead the further development of the anticipated product line. This post is available for two years.
The successful applicant should have at least an MSc and a 2:1 degree or above, in computer science or closely related subject; PhD applicants are encouraged. The successful applicant should also have experience of conducting computer science projects and be able to demonstrate sound software engineering and programming skills.
